East Side Gravel Resource Request

The R.M. of Leask No. 464 would like to be proactive in obtaining gravel
resources for the east side of the municipality.

Gravel resources are becoming scarce in the Province of Saskatchewan. It
is our hope that local resources exist within our municipality, thus securing
them at an affordable price rather than more costly options which include
additional transportation.

It is in everyone’s best interest to find gravel at a reasonable end cost.

Therefore, we are seeking the assistance of our ratepayers; should you
believe gravel resources are present on your land, please contact the R.M.
office. We want to speak with you!!

High Flow Advisory 2026-04-18

Today, the Water Security Agency (WSA) is issuing a High Flow Advisory for a large area extending from northwestern Saskatchewan near Buffalo Narrows down to the southeastern areas near Yorkton.

Weather forecasts indicate the potential for double digit daytime temperatures and overnight lows remaining above freezing early next week, which may result in rapid snowmelt.

This encompasses areas around Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Buffalo Narrows, La Ronge, Prince Albert, the Battlefords, Watrous, Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale, Hudson Bay and Yorkton.

This accelerated melt could cause river flows to increase more quickly and reach higher levels than currently forecasted, increasing the risk for ice jamming. Ice jamming has the potential to cause short-term localized flooding.

WSA will continue monitoring conditions including streamflow and lake levels and will provide updates as conditions develop.

Residents are asked to use caution around water bodies as conditions could change rapidly without notice, resulting in rising water, increased current and large pieces of ice.

For more information, please contact WSA at 1-866-727-5420 or wsask.ca.
